The complete renovation of the 1974-built ferry terminal built has begun, says the website of Port of Naantali.

The goal of the renovation is to bring the building to a level equivalent to a new building, for example in terms of functionality and energy efficiency.

In addition, the just-completed geothermal contract enables the premises to be heated and cooled using geothermal energy.

In August 2023, the 1st floor of the terminal building will be completed, which will serve as the departure and arrival lobby for foot passengers as from September.

The other facilities will be completed in the spring of 2024.

New offices will be offered for rent, also to potential new operators.

The first of Finnlines’ Superstar class ships, FINNSIRIUS, was launched already in August 2022. The two new ferries will operate from Naantali to Kapellskär.  (photo: Finnlines)

The Port of Naantali has started to extend an existing quay from 178m to 228m in order to create additional vessel handling infrastructure.
This will support Finnlines’ plans to expand its traffic between Finland, Åland and Sweden, enabling Finnlines larger vessels to enter the port.
The €4m construction work has started in September 2017 and the works should be ready before May.
