  • Polferries had to inform its passengers that the chartered NOVA STAR would not be on time. In March the unit went to the Gdansk Shiprepair Yard, and the vessel should have been ready end of June. It is unclear what the problem is, but the delay is causing trouble in the busy tourist season. New start date is 21 July.
  • DFDS had to suspend crossings between Newhaven and Dieppe on Monday 9 July and cancelled the first service on Tuesday 10 July. The reason was a problem with the ramp in Newhaven.
  • Western Ferries are to upgrade their linkspan at Hunter’s Quay. Western Ferries is a privately owned company which has operated the short 20 minute ferry crossing between Hunter’s Quay (Dunoon) and McInroy’s Point (Gourock) across the Firth of Clyde (Scotand) since 1973.
