  • The well-known Greek shipowner and ferry entrepreneur Gerassimos Agoudimos passed away at the age of 76. He started his own ferry company in 1991. It collapsed in 2011 after having been declared bankrupt.
  • Ro-pax ARIADNE arrived in Naples on April 3 for her new charter. The Hellenic Seaways vessel will be operated by Tirrenia on the Naples – Sicily routes. She has been repainted accordingly.
  • Linea Messina’s JOLLY COBALTO has been renamed MSC COBALTO, and now has an MSC funnel. A picture can be seen here. MSC is also going to charter the JOLLY TITANIO, before entering the capital of Linea Messina.
    The vessels are used on the Trieste – Izmir route.
  • After the signing of the letter of intent on March 5, Fincantieri and the Grimaldi Group signed the contract for the lengthening and refurbishment program for the cruise ferries CRUISE ROMA and CRUISE BARCELONA. The construction of the two mid-body sections will begin in 2018, while the completion of the works at Palermo shipyard is foreseen within summer 2019.
