Helsingborg and Helsingør exceeded the number of trucks choosing the fixed connection between Malmö and Copenhagen for the first time.

Scandlines Helsingborg-Helsingör made progress in Q1 in terms of transferred cars, ensuring the route an increased share of car traffic on the Öresund.
The expansion of ferry HAMLETs timetable from 1 December 2017 entailed greater capacity, which was almost fully utilized in Q1 already.

  • Trucks 111,000 (107,000) +4%
  • Passengers 1.29 million (1.28 million)

Scandlines Helsingborg-Helsingør continued the positive development and made progress in Q1 in terms of transferred cars, ensuring the route an increased share of car traffic on Öresund. The expansion of ferry HAMLET’s timetable from 1 December 2017 entailed greater capacity, which was almost fully utilized in Q1 already.

  • Cars 239,000 (235,000): +2%.
  • Trucks 111,000 (107,000): +4%
  • Buses: 2,500 (2,700): -7%
  • Passengers: 1.29 million (1.28 million): +0.7%
  • Departures: 11,900 – almost on par with Q1 2017.

Growth in cargo traffic on Scandlines Helsingborg-Helsingör continued in Q4

The increasing cargo traffic entailed higher capacity utilisation on the route’s ferries despite a minor decline in the number of cars. Capacity was increased by expanding the timetable of HAMLET by 5 hours per day since December 1, 2017.
Some figures:

  • Number of departures: 12,300 (status quo)
  • Freight units: 109,500 (+5%)
  • Goods in tonnes: 1,252,000 tons (+4%)
  • Cars: 265,000 (-2%)
  • Passengers 1.44 million (-4%)

HH Ferries Group: cargo traffic continued to grow in Q3

Scandlines Helsingborg-Helsingör saw continued growth in cargo traffic, which made the management to decide to increase capacity by expanding ferry HAMLET’s sailing schedule by five hours daily as from December. The expansion will make it possible to transport an additional 40,000 trucks per year.

  • Number of departures 12,800 = status quo
  • Trucks: 102,600 (98,000) = +5%
  • Cars: 457,000 (473,000) = -3%
  • Passengers: 2.54 million (2.5 million) = -3%

In October, HH Ferries received the final authority approvals for TYCHO BRAHE’s charging stations. This ferry is already sailing in both battery and hybrid operations, while charging procedures are being adjusted.
The electrification of AURORA will follow before the turn of the year.
